Dr Leah Riungu-Kalliosaari
Leah has a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Namibia, an MSc in Information Technology & a DSc in Software Engineering from LUT University, Finland. After completing her doctorate, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki, where she researched the impact of data science in software organisations, customer involvement during continuous deployment, and DevOps.
Before joining CIDS, she worked at CSC – IT Center for Science (Finland) as a project coordinator and cloud specialist, where she was involved in the strategic development of international projects related to research data management and open science. She led and managed internationally distributed teams in executing R&D EU-funded projects. She also coordinated and managed bids for funding from the European Commission.
Leah joined the CIDS in April 2022 as a project coordinator, working primarily with the Director of the CIDS. She supports the CIDS team in coordinating and managing the growing project portfolio.
Kathryn has also been involved in providing computational training to Curtin staff and students and has an interest in eResearch and data management.
