Software Developer

Tom Rath

Tom completed his BSc, majoring in botany from UWA in 2014. In 2021 he attained a Diploma of Software development.

From 2021 to 2023, Tom worked at Qoria as a full stack developer. During this time, he was involved with the planning and development of a new user interface built with TypeScript and React, as well as a new backend service built with Go. Additionally, Tom was a member of the on-call team, ensuring the reliability and performance of highly scalable services. This included rapidly debugging production issues to minimize customer impact and optimising systems for demanding conditions. From 2023 – 2024 worked as a machine learning ops engineer, developing machine learning models,pipelines for data preprocessing, quality assurance and validation.

Tom joined the CIDS in November 2024 as a software developer, working on mining focused software.
