Website Support Officer (ADSN 2024 Conference)

David Xu

David Xu completed his master of Predictive Analytics with a Data Science major from Curtin University in July 2023. His academic background also includes a Master of Economics (Quantitative Economics) from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Hefei University of Technology.

From November 2023 to the present, David has been working as a Graduate Intern at the Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy in Perth, where he specializes in fine-tuning open source LLMs with astronomical data and developed full-stack applications, including a QA chatbot UI and a semantic search tool for Rubin Observatory Documentation. David is also working as a Casual Academic Tutor at Curtin University of EECMS, where he teaches various programming and computer science courses. Previously, he participated in the 2022-2023 Curtin HIVE Summer Internship Program, where he processed and visualized transport data using ArcGIS. Prior to his graduate studies in Curtin, David had an extensive career in the banking sector, holding various positions including Investment Manager.

David joined CIDS in September 2024 as the Website Support Officer (ADSN 2024 Conference). In this role, he will leverage his expertise to support the conference website and related digital initiatives.
