Software Developer

Dario Limongi

Dario completed his Master in Computer Science at Universita’ degli Studi Milano—Bicocca in 2015, focusing on topics like Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Mobile Robotics. His Master’s thesis addressed the problem of autonomous car localisation in GPS-impaired environments, deciding to use camera images only together with computer vision, map matching, and probabilistic robotics algorithms. The results were published at the 2015 IEEE 18th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems.

After his studies, Dario worked on several mapping-related projects, including automotive navigation systems, high-definition maps for highly assisted driving solutions, on-street car parking map creation, and, lately, solar fields map data visualisation. Since the pandemic, he has been travelling and working remotely as a freelance software developer, gaining deeper expertise in cloud computing services and full-stack development. In his spare time, he enjoys working on small DIY open-source projects related to IoT.

Dario joined CIDS in July 2024 as a software developer for the Centre for Optimisation and Decision Science.

Key Competencies/Areas of Expertise:

•Software: design & development cycle for full-stack systems, embedded/GIS/IoT projects
