Joel Dunstan
Joel completed his BSc in Computer Science and his Master of Information Technology at UWA.
During and after his undergraduate studies he worked as a research assistant with UWA, and developed a web-based multiplayer game for agricultural and economic experiments. After finishing his master’s degree, he joined the summer internship program at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre in collaboration with Curtin University. During the 10-week internship, he worked on image segmentation in urban environments. Afterwards, he worked on a collaborative project with Main Roads WA and UWA on improving congestion detection in historical traffic data and estimating the costs of congestion.
Joel joined the CIDS in September 2021 as a software developer for the Astronomy Data and Compute Services, working on astronomy-focused software.
