Book a Technical Expert

The CIDS aims to engage and foster collaboration across computer science, engineering, sciences, social sciences, and the humanities under five themes; big data analytics, simulation, modelling and optimisation, visualisation, and education. We are also open to bringing together collaborations with industries, small and medium businesses across Australia.

‘Book a Technical Expert’ is a service provided by the CIDS for Curtin staff and students every Tuesday from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. They are held in person and virtually (if requested) and are a great opportunity to network with our friendly CIDS team.

What we offer at the Book a Technical Expert sessions

  • Research project discussion & collaboration: we are interested in collaborating with researchers and students across the university on specific projects, but please note not all projects may be supported. Please come to our drop in session or email to discuss the project details and/or to submit a project EOI.
  • Coding problems & problem solving: a short hacky hour to help you solve coding problems. Our team members have diverse backgrounds and experience in programming and using some software tools. This includes the popular coding languages Python and R. However, we may not cover some particular software or tools, such as SPSS. Please see the Additional resources section below for alternative resources available across the university.
